FAMILY DIRECTED EDUCATION

Current research shows well over 70% of students from Chirstian homes abandon their faith shortly after graduation.  Yet, less than 10% of homeschool teens do so.   Why?  Becasue the family is the best place for discipleship; but many parents are scared to try homeschooling or to continue homeschooling through the high school years.  This is where we can help.

We offer a family directed high school program that is affiliated with Academy Northwest, an accredited private school in Washington state.  In this program, the teacher develops a relationship with the student and parents creating an educational program focusing on the student's learning needs and interests. We provide expert advice in finding and using the best resources and instructional methods.   Using contract based coursework, the teacher holds the student accountable for their academic requirements, and evaluates progress in a weekly meeting.  The parent provides guidance in keeping the student motivated and encouraged to complete this coursework between meetings.  The student will receive credits, transcripts and a diploma through the private school. 

In this program, the student is under the private school regulations of the state of Washington, so yearly testing is not required nor is the WASL.  Bible study is required and Biblical curriculum is strongly encouraged.  

Students enrolled in this program are given a discounted rate for other services provided by Daybreak Learning Center.
